About

Civic Trust Cymru

The Civic Trust in Wales was founded over fifty years ago. Since that time our work has been concentrated within Wales, seeking to improve and protect what is so special about this country. Civic Trust Cymru, is a registered charity, working to promotes civic pride as a means to improving the quality of life for all in the places where we live and work, and encourages community action, good design, sustainable development and respect for the built environment amongst people of all ages.

Civic Trust Cymru does this in three ways: 1 civic societies, 2 characterisation, 3 Wales Heritage Group. More information can be found by selecting the relevant tab/drop down menu above.

Civic Trust Cymru launched on April 1st 2015. The Civic Trust in Wales was founded over fifty years ago. Civic Trust Cymru is the new name for The Civic Trust for Wales (please see separate page on The Civic Trust for Wales).

As a Trust, we’ve realised that the time has come to shout more loudly about what we do and about the people we do it for. In recent years, demographic changes in many communities mean that the average age of Civic Society members has been increasing, with an associated drop in membership numbers. This Impact Report is one of the ways in which we are addressing these changes. We are also widening the scope of those we work with; if you would like to talk about our Impact Report or explore possible joint working, we’d be delighted to meet you.
